2022: the romances

December is always a great time to reflect back on the past year, rather than picking up a new book to read, I want to look back over a few books which stuck in my mind these past 12 months.

There is no doubt I'll be setting myself a new Good Reads goal... and obviously hitting the sales for some new buys, but for now, let's look at some romances this year that I would highly recommend.

The Love Hypothesis - Ali Hazlewood (3/5)

This was my first romance of the year (I believe) and it was good! It wasn't one of my favourites, but I've read so many great reviews that I didn't want to miss it.

I personally found it a bit far-fetched, but it's a novel, and what fun is reality right?

I read this in one night, i didn't want to put it down and I think it's a light-hearted, enjoyable book.

If you just want to jump into love, this is the one.

The Spanish Love Deception - Elena Armas (5/5)

Honestly, this left me speechless.

This was a read-in-one-evening kind of book too, I just could not put it down.

It's full of laugher, tears, passion, and romance.. and all the things you want from a book!

Words cannot explain fully how much I loved this book.

I recommend this book to EVERYONE, however, it's in no way PG.

The Soulmate Equation - Christina Lauren (3/5)

This was a Tik Tok recommendation, bought at the same time as a few Colleen Hoover books (which need their own post altogether) and it didn't disappoint.

The last three books here are actually all enemies to lovers (kind of) or a 'fake boyfriend' scenario which I thought was very cringe, but this book did it so well!

I just fell in love with the characters!

Meet me in London - Georgia Toffolo (5/5)

I fell in love with this book.

This came close to the Spanish Love Deception, both are tied because the romance was on point.

I think these two are to blame for my high standards when it comes to love, hence, I'm single.

If you need a winter romance this is it!

The Ex Hex - Erin Sterling (2/5)

This was the first 'witchy' based book I've read, it is the lowest rated here, but it is in no way bad!

I don't think the genre is personally for me but the storyline very much drew me in.

If this is your type of genre then I'd give it a go.

That's my little wrap-up on my 2022 romance novels, I'm so excited to read many many more in 2023! I have a wishlist the size of my arm and I'm going to tackle it. Head on.
